Tinubu Deploys Rescue Team for Abducted Oyo Pupils

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken decisive action to address the abduction of 46 pupils and a teacher from Oriire Local Government Area in Oyo State. He approved the immediate deployment of a specialized security rescue unit and authorized the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards to enhance security in the region.

A high-powered federal government delegation, led by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, visited the affected community to convey the President's deep concern and outline immediate tactical measures. Gbajabiamila assured families that the rescue operations would be carefully coordinated and intelligence-led.

The delegation also revealed a formal request to establish a permanent military base in the area to combat criminal elements. During the visit, condolences were expressed to the widow of a schoolteacher killed during the raid, with assurances that the federal government would support grieving families.
