Tinubu Urges State Police Amid Oyo Kidnapping Crisis

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared the urgent need for the establishment of state police in response to a recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State. This statement was made following the abduction of staff and students from the Baptist Grammar School and a primary school in Esiel Community, Oriir Local Government Area.

Tinubu condemned the incident and expressed sympathy for the victims and the people of Oyo State, assuring that the federal government would work closely with Governor Seyi Makinde and state authorities to rescue the kidnapped individuals and bring the perpetrators to justice. The President commended the Inspector General of Police for the swift intervention and deployment of tactical operations and intelligence response teams to intensify rescue efforts and restore security in the affected community.

The kidnapping occurred last Friday, and operations to rescue the victims are ongoing.
