Tinubu Nominates Taiwo Oyedele as Finance Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially nominated Taiwo Oyedele as the Minister of State for Finance, succeeding Dori Uzoka. The announcement was made through a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Strategic Communications, Bayo Onanuga.

The nomination letter has been conveyed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, for confirmation. Dori Uzoka is expected to transition to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.

Taiwo Oyedele, who hails from Ikaram Akoko in Ondo State, is an accomplished economist and public policy expert. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from Yaba College of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

Oyedele has completed executive education programs at the London School of Economics, Yale University, and Harvard Kennedy School. He has a 22-year career at PwC, where he rose to become the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader, and has also served as a professor at Babcock University and a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
