Tinubu Completes Cash Rewards for D'Tigress Team

On Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the full payment of cash rewards owed to Nigeria's D'Tigress basketball team. Each player will receive the naira equivalent of $100,000, while each official will receive $50,000.

Tinubu stated that these payments finalize a package that includes national honors and three-bedroom homes in Abuja for the players. He described this completion as historic, marking the first time a federal government has fulfilled presidential sporting rewards of this scale within one year.

Additionally, he confirmed that outstanding cash rewards for the Super Falcons are being concluded, although no specific timeline was provided for their payments. The president emphasized his commitment to Nigerian athletes, stating that they deserve more than applause and a country that keeps its word.
