Youths Protest at National Assembly Over Insecurity in Nigeria

On Tuesday, hundreds of Nigerian youths gathered at the National Assembly in Abuja to protest against the escalating insecurity in the country. The protest, organized by Isah Abubakar, highlighted the urgent need for government action to address the worsening security situation affecting all citizens, regardless of their religion, tribe, or political affiliation.

Abubakar stated that insecurity has transcended politics and has become a national crisis, urging the government to take proactive measures to protect lives and property. Austin Okhai, another speaker at the protest, called on former military leaders and security chiefs to prioritize national interests and collaborate on solutions to the security challenges facing Nigeria.

He emphasized that insecurity impacts daily life and political activities, as citizens cannot mobilize freely due to the threat of kidnapping and banditry. The protest concluded with a call for unity among Nigerians to combat insecurity and a demand for security reforms to ensure adequate resources and power for law enforcement agencies.
