British Council Encourages Nigerian Alumni for Innovation

The British Council held a symposium in Abuja, Nigeria, focusing on the role of Nigerian alumni from UK institutions in fostering global innovation and social change. The event, titled "The Role of UK Alumni in Shaping Nigeria-UK Relations," featured Gill Lever, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, who highlighted the significance of alumni as catalysts for economic growth and social change.

Lever noted that the UK has been a destination for Nigeria's brightest minds through programs like the Chevening and Commonwealth scholarships. She emphasized that alumni should utilize their knowledge and networks to advocate for justice and social inclusion, thereby transforming individual lives and contributing positively to society.

Isaiah Bozimo, a lawyer and founder, also spoke at the event, stressing the value of alumni networks in enabling collaboration and leadership. He pointed out that the real value of alumni lies not just in their qualifications but in their ability to influence and drive change across borders.
