Bruno Fernandes Named 2025/26 Premier League Player of the Season

Bruno Fernandes has won the 2025/26 Premier League Player of the Season award, as announced by Manchester United on Saturday. His exceptional performance as the team's captain was pivotal in securing a top three finish for the club, which qualifies them for the next season's UEFA Champions League.

Throughout the season, Fernandes scored eight league goals and provided 20 assists, equaling the Premier League single-season assist record previously held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. He surpassed this record during Manchester United's final league game against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The award was determined by a combination of votes from a fan panel and football experts. Earlier in the season, Fernandes also received Manchester United's Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the fifth time and was shortlisted for the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award alongside notable players such as Gabriel Magalhães and Erling Haaland.

He becomes the seventh Manchester United player to win the Premier League Player of the Season award since its introduction in the 1994/95 season.
