BUA Cement Profit Soars 80% to N324.9 Billion in 2026

BUA Cement recorded a net profit of N324.9 billion in the first half of 2026, marking an 80% increase compared to the previous year. The company achieved a net foreign exchange gain of N16.57 billion, a significant rise from N782.8 million in the same period last year and a recovery from a N9.70 billion loss in the full 2025 financial year.

This improvement was attributed to a more stable exchange rate environment. Overall net finance costs decreased to N3.41 billion from N31.37 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, while finance income rose to N18.73 billion.

BUA Cement generated N278.45 billion from operating activities and invested over N60.67 billion in capital expenditure, primarily in property, plant, and equipment. The company plans to expand its production capacity from 17 million metric tonnes per annum to 20 million metric tonnes, including a new cement plant in Ososo, Edo State.

Yusuf Binji, managing director and CEO, expressed confidence in the company’s growth initiatives and cost management strategies.
