Nigeria's Minister Urges States to Lead $1 Trillion Agenda

During a two-day retreat held in Abuja, Dr. Dori Uzoka, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, called on states to break boundaries and take active leadership in realizing Nigeria's goal of a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

In her keynote address, she stressed that achieving this ambitious target requires a shift from passive implementation to active leadership. Dr.

Uzoka encouraged participants to examine their unique economic profiles in relation to national targets and to identify specific advantages that align local budgets with national priorities. She assured stakeholders of renewed hope in the agenda, which will be supported by the medium-term National Development Plan from 2026 to 2030.

The retreat also featured contributions from Dr. Deborah Odoh and other officials, focusing on collaboration between federal and state governments to improve economic processes and strategies for the upcoming National Development Plan.
