Budget Minister Advocates Collaboration for Economic Reforms

On Tuesday, at the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Nigeria Impact Showcase in Abuja, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, urged for enhanced collaboration among government entities, humanitarian organizations, and development partners. He emphasized that ongoing economic reforms must translate into improved livelihoods for vulnerable Nigerians, particularly underserved communities.

Senator Bagudu acknowledged the critical role of organizations like CRS in identifying gaps and reaching communities often overlooked. He commended CRS for its humanitarian efforts and stressed that the Federal Government's reforms, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are essential for repositioning Nigeria's economy.

He noted that major reforms can have varying impacts across different societal segments, necessitating targeted interventions for low-income households, small businesses, traders, and farmers. Senator Bagudu also pointed out that global disruptions, such as international conflicts and rising energy costs, have compounded Nigeria's economic challenges, making partnerships with humanitarian organizations increasingly vital.
