Wike Mocks Amaechi Over 2023 Election Performance

Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, criticized Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transport, for his inability to secure 25% of the votes in Rivers State during the 2023 elections, despite his influence. Wike highlighted that even with the backing of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari's campaign, the All Progressives Congress (APC) did not perform strongly in the state during the 2015 and 2019 elections.

He urged opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to focus on building political structures rather than relying on prominent political figures to boost their electoral chances. Wike also questioned the ADC's prospects nationally, pointing out that the party's national chairman and former Senate President David Mark could not deliver his home state of Benue.
