Amaechi Disputes Tinubu's Claim on Buhari's Presidency

In an interview, Rotimi Amaechi, who served as the Director General of Muhammadu Buhari's 2015 presidential campaign, refuted Bola Tinubu's claims that he was solely responsible for Buhari's emergence as President. Amaechi asserted that Buhari's victory was a product of collective efforts within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and not the result of any single individual's intervention.

He recalled that Buhari had previously failed in three presidential contests before being encouraged to run again in 2015. Amaechi noted his significant role in mobilizing political support across Nigeria, including his tenure as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, where he worked to galvanize support for Buhari's candidacy.

He emphasized that the APC's success was a collaborative effort and that many actors contributed to the campaign's achievements. Amaechi's statements come amid ongoing debates about the political forces that shaped Buhari's rise to power during the 2015 elections.
