Lai Mohammed Honors Buhari's Leadership Legacy

Lai Mohammed, the former Minister of Information and Culture, paid tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari during an event in Abuja commemorating the first anniversary of Buhari's passing. Mohammed described Buhari as a rare leader whose legacy transcends the number of public offices he held, emphasizing his unwavering integrity, patriotism, humility, and absolute trust in service.

He reflected on Buhari's nearly eight-year tenure as a spokesman for the Buhari Administration, noting the late president's uncommon confidence, especially during sensitive national assignments. Mohammed recounted Buhari's decisive actions, including approving a high-risk media tour to Borno State shortly after assuming office in 2015, demonstrating his trust in his subordinates.

He also mentioned Buhari's commitment to Nigeria's unity and his steadfast belief in the nation's future, recalling Buhari's declaration during the Nigerian Civil War that "no country shall remain salvaged together." Mohammed characterized Buhari's leadership as marked by gentleness, despite perceptions of him as a stern military officer.
