Lai Mohammed Honors Buhari as a Compassionate Leader

During a tribute in Abuja on Monday, Lai Mohammed, the former Minister of Information and Culture, described late President Muhammadu Buhari as a patriot and a compassionate leader. Mohammed emphasized Buhari's integrity and humility, noting that his legacy transcends his distinguished military and political career.

He highlighted Buhari's extensive experience, having served at various levels, including military governor, minister, and chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Mohammed recounted instances that illustrated Buhari's leadership qualities, including his approval of a high-risk media tour in Borno State during the Boko Haram insurgency.

He also noted Buhari's commitment to Nigeria's unity, recalling Buhari's famous declaration upon assuming office as military head of state in January 1984. The tribute marked the first anniversary of Buhari's passing, reflecting on his genuine concern for the nation and his unwavering patriotism throughout his nearly eight years in office.
