Captain Hajji Nasidi Murdered During Patrol in Plateau

Captain Hajji Nasidi, a gallant soldier in the Nigerian Army, was murdered during a routine patrol in the Garaga area of Kanam Local Government Area, Plateau State. His wife recounted a phone encounter where he promised to return shortly, but she later received a call from his assailants.

His body was discovered burnt beyond recognition, and there were no bullet wounds found. The family quickly mobilized to the area upon hearing the news.

Captain Nasidi was laid to rest with full military honors at the Lungi Brigade Military Cemetery in Asokoro Barrack, Abuja, on a Sunday, with a solemn military parade led by Colonel O Olaley. Dignitaries present included Brigadier General Idri Abdulrahman Kuguna and community leaders.

Captain Nasidi, born in 1984, was promoted to the rank of Major and is survived by two wives and four children. His death serves as a reminder of the heavy price paid by members of the armed forces in defending the nation.
