Iheanacho Shines in Bursaspor Debut with Goal and Assist

Kelechi Iheanacho made an impressive debut for Bursaspor on Sunday, contributing to a 2-0 away victory against Bodrum FK in the Turkish second-tier league. Iheanacho opened the scoring and assisted the second goal, earning the Man of The Match title.

He expressed his joy in an interview with beIN Sports, stating, “I’m very happy,” and emphasized the importance of winning early matches. Iheanacho joined Bursaspor on a free transfer last month after concluding his time at Celtic, where he scored nine goals during an injury-affected loan spell.

The 29-year-old highlighted Bursaspor's ambition to return to the Turkish Super Lig and compete in Europe as key factors in his decision to join the club. He expressed a collective goal of achieving promotion, stating, “My target is for us to go to the Super Lig.” Following this victory, Bursaspor currently sits second in the early standings of the Turkish second-tier league.
