Kelechi Iheanacho Shines on Bursaspor Debut with Goal

Kelechi Iheanacho made an impressive debut for Bursaspor, scoring a goal and providing an assist in a 2-0 victory against Bodrum in their opening game of the 2026/27 season. Iheanacho opened the scoring in the 27th minute and assisted a teammate shortly before half-time, helping Bursaspor secure a clean-sheet win.

The 29-year-old joined Bursaspor as a free agent in July after leaving Celtic, where he had a productive loan spell, scoring nine goals. Bursaspor signed him to a three-year contract as they aim to return to Turkey's top flight, the Super Lig.

Iheanacho expressed that the club's ambitions for promotion and competing in European competitions were significant factors in his decision to join. He emphasized the importance of collective team success over individual achievements, stating that the main objective is to achieve promotion to the Super Lig.
