Kelechi Iheanacho Joins Bursaspor, Eyes Promotion

Kelechi Iheanacho completed a transfer to Bursaspor from Celtic, turning down a new contract with the Scottish club. The 29-year-old striker, who had a successful season with Celtic, winning a domestic double and scoring nine goals, was convinced by Bursaspor's ambition to return to the Turkish Super Lig and compete in Europe.

Celtic's manager, Martin O’Neill, had believed an agreement was in place for Iheanacho to stay, but negotiations fell through. Iheanacho emphasized that Bursaspor's sporting project, rather than financial incentives, influenced his decision.

He expressed his commitment to helping the team achieve promotion as their primary goal. Additionally, he acknowledged the support from Bursaspor fans, who encouraged him to join the club via social media.

Iheanacho humorously noted the similarity in the club colors, comparing Bursaspor's dark green to Celtic's lighter shade.
