Uba Sani Launches Governance Strategy in Kaduna

On September 1, 2023, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna introduced a governance strategy that includes distributing CNG-powered buses to five essential institutions: the Nigerian Medical Association, Nigerian Bar Association, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nigerian Correctional Service, and Kaduna State University. This initiative is part of the N985.9 billion 2026 “Budget of Consolidation.” Additionally, effective September 1, Sani approved a new salary and allowance structure for traditional rulers across Kaduna's three senatorial districts, which includes monthly security allowances for all 35 emirates and chiefdoms.

This move recognizes the role of traditional leaders in local governance and peacekeeping. Furthermore, during the 2026 International Youth Day Conference, Sani awarded N3 million each to standout innovators, including a team from Ahmadu Bello University that developed an assistive walking aid and a commercial astronaut candidate, Fauziyya Muhammad Auwal, among others.

This comprehensive strategy aims to strengthen institutional support, enhance community engagement, and invest in youth innovation.
