By-Election: IGP Restricts Movement, Bars VIP Escorts Across 13 States

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has announced restrictions on movement and barred VIP escorts in 13 states where by-elections are scheduled to take place. In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP emphasized the need for a free and fair election by deploying operational logistics in the affected states and local government areas.

The states where these restrictions will be enforced include Anambra, Kano, Oyo, Taraba, Enugu, Adamawa, Edo, Jigawa, Kogi, Kano, Ogun, Zamfara, and Niger. The statement aims to provide an enabling environment for the electoral process.

This directive is part of efforts to ensure a peaceful and transparent electoral process in the upcoming by-elections.
