By-election: Police restrict movement in four LGs in kano

The Kano State Police Command has announced the imposition of movement restrictions in four local government areas ahead of a by-election. The affected LGAs are Bagwai, Shanono, Ghari, and Tsanyawa, with the restrictions in place from 12 midnight on Friday until 6 pm on Saturday, which is the election day.

Only essential service vehicles, ambulances, fire service trucks, electoral officers, and accredited election observers will be allowed to move during this period. The Command emphasized the need for a peaceful, free, fair, and transparent election and urged residents and visitors in the affected areas to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Strict guidelines have been put in place, including prohibiting individuals from carrying weapons or displaying political party logos at polling units. The Command assured the public of its commitment to ensuring security and maintaining peace during the electoral process.
