Police Restrict Movement In 4 Kano LGAs Ahead Of Polls

The Kano State Police Command has implemented movement restrictions in Ghari, Tsanyawa, Bagwai, and Shanono local government areas ahead of the upcoming polls on Saturday, August 16. The restrictions will be in place from midnight on Friday, August 15, until the end of polling on Saturday, August 16, to maintain law and order.

Exceptions will be made for essential vehicles, ambulances, fire service trucks, vehicles carrying electoral officers, accredited election observers, and unauthorized agents. The display of political party logos, carrying weapons, and loitering around polling stations are prohibited.

Security outfits, vigilante groups, KAROTA personnel, and unauthorized individuals are also barred from polling units. The Commissioner of Police for Kano Command has assured residents of adequate security measures and urged cooperation to ensure a peaceful and transparent election.
