Bye-election: PDP wins Tinubu Minister’s polling unit in Jigawa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged victorious in the bye-election at the polling unit of Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, in Jigawa State, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP received 308 votes while the APC garnered 112 votes at polling unit 001 in Babura Kofar Arewa Primary School.

Despite the tight security in the area, the minister and APC chieftain, who is also the immediate past governor of the state, cast his vote but reportedly left without addressing journalists. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted the election in at least 12 states across the country on Saturday, with reports of apathy, violence, and vote-buying.
