CAC Offers Free Business Name Registration for 3,500 Small Businesses Nationwide

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria has announced the free registration of business names for 3,500 small businesses across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The initiative, part of CAC's 35th-anniversary celebrations, aims to lower formalization costs for micro and small enterprises, supporting economic growth and inclusivity.

The program encourages small businesses to formalize their operations, expanding their access to government services, financial opportunities, and broader economic participation. CAC has also signed a collaboration letter with Google to enhance its digital infrastructure services.

The move is part of efforts to simplify business name generation and registration processes, with a target to register 250,000 youth-led businesses for free. The initiative underscores CAC's commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and ensuring a transparent and credible business environment in Nigeria.
