CAF Invites Bids for Hosting AFCON 2028, 2032, 2036

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the invitation for bids from its 54 member associations to host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments in 2028, 2032, and 2036. This announcement was made through a statement published on CAF's website on a Friday.

The bidding framework is designed to ensure a transparent and credible selection process, aligning with global best practices. While CAF has not disclosed specific details regarding the bidding process, including submission deadlines and technical requirements, it has developed a framework with the assistance of independent expert advisors from PwC, alongside technical, financial, and external legal advisors.

This framework will establish criteria for evaluating and selecting the host countries. Additionally, CAF noted that the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Pamoja 2027 will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

The invitation opens the competition among CAF's member associations for the hosting rights of these future tournaments.
