CAJ President Urges NIPR Inductees to Uphold Integrity

During the induction ceremony for new members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) held in Abuja on Friday, Comrade Chido Isiguzo, President of the Congress of African Journalists (CAJ), urged inductees to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethics in their professional conduct. He stressed that the credibility of communication in the future depends on responsible practitioners, especially at a time when misinformation and fake news are prevalent, leading to a decline in public trust.

Isiguzo noted the increasing importance of the public relations profession in managing trust and engaging stakeholders for national development. He congratulated Dr.

Ik Neliaku, the Chairman of the NIPR Council, for his leadership and commitment to promoting ethical practices. Isiguzo reminded the inductees that their certification represents academic qualifications and urged them to stand firmly for truth and transparency in their engagements.

He also highlighted the challenges posed by emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and digital media, urging practitioners to embrace innovation while adhering to ethical values.
