NWFL Championship in Calabar: 16 Teams Compete for Promotion

The NWFL championship is set to be hosted in Calabar, where 16 teams will compete for two promotion spots to the NWFL Premiership. The announcement was made by league spokesperson Samuel Ahmadu.

This second-tier competition returns to Calabar after a successful tournament two years ago. The week-long championship will commence with team arrivals on July 9, 2024.

An official draw to determine the groups will be held on June 29. The tournament schedule includes matches starting on July 11, with eight matches played across two venues.

A rest day is scheduled for July 12, followed by additional matches on July 13 and the final round of group matches on July 14. The decisive matches for the playoffs will take place on July 16, determining which teams secure promotion to the NWFL Premiership.
