Port Harcourt to Host 2026 NWFL Super Six Tournament

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced that Port Harcourt will host the 2026 NWFL Super Six tournament from June 5 to June 14, 2026. This marks the first occasion the season-ending tournament will take place in River State.

Modup Shabi, the NWFL Chief Operating Officer, stated that the choice of Port Harcourt reflects the River State government's ongoing support for women's football. The tournament will feature the top three teams from both groups of the regular season competing in a round-robin format.

The clubs participating include the defending champions Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, Rivers Angels, Robo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, and debutants Abia Angels. The NWFL premiership has produced four different winners in the last five editions, with Rivers Angels winning in 2021, Bayelsa Queens in 2022, Delta Queens in 2023, and Edo Queens in 2024.

The Super Six will determine Nigeria's representatives for the WAFU B qualifiers for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
