NWFL Championship Kicks Off with Double-Header in Calabar

The 2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship kicked off with a double-header at U J Esuen Stadium in Calabar. The first match featured Mahi Babe facing Delta Babe FC, scheduled to start at 9 AM.

Following this, the second match was set to begin at 11:30 AM, where Pelican Star would compete against Ikukuoma Queen. The championship includes various clubs across the country competing for promotion slots.

Group B consists of Pelican Star, Ikukuoma Queen, and Moje Queen, while Group C includes Ranger Women, Unif Queen, Fortress Ladi, and Wazbak Intern. This event marks the beginning of the race for promotion in the NWFL.
