Nigeria Hosts Fifth NCF T20I Tournament in Lagos

The fifth edition of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) T20I tournament commenced in Lagos, featuring five countries: host Nigeria, Rwanda, Ghana, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. The tournament, named after Patricia Kambarami, aims to reignite fierce competition after a year-long break.

Nigeria's captain, Lucki Pieti, who leads the women's U-19 team, expressed confidence in their preparations, dismissing any feelings of inferiority against established teams like South Africa and Zimbabwe. Pieti highlighted the hard work and training that has gone into their readiness for the tournament, which serves as a precursor to the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled for January in Bangladesh and Nepal.

The tournament format is round-robin, with matches scheduled until March 25, culminating in semi-finals and a final on March 28. The opening match features Rwanda against Ghana, followed by Nigeria facing Zimbabwe.
