Cardoso and Okonjo-Iweala to Lead Economic Forum in Abuja

The 7th Africa Emerging Markets Forum will take place in Abuja on July 29-30, 2026, featuring Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, as key speakers. Organized by the Central Bank of Nigeria in collaboration with the Emerging Markets Forum and the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa, the forum aims to address strategies for strengthening Africa's economic resilience in light of rising global economic uncertainties.

The event will include a high-level fireside dialogue between Cardoso and Okonjo-Iweala, focusing on how African economies can sustain reform momentum and deepen regional integration. Keynote addresses will also be delivered by Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, and Dr.

Kingsley Udeh, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. The forum will gather senior policymakers, central bankers, and economists to discuss policy options for maintaining macroeconomic stability and economic transformation.
