CBN and WTO Lead Africa Economic Forum in Abuja

The 7th Africa Emerging Markets Forum is scheduled to take place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Headquarters in Abuja from July 29 to 30, 2026. The forum will be led by the Governor of the CBN, Mr Olayemi Cardoso, and the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

It is organized in partnership with the Emerging Markets Forum (EMF) and the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA). The event aims to gather senior policymakers, central bankers, ministers, development partners, academics, and private sector leaders to discuss strategies for enhancing African economies amidst global uncertainties.

Keynote addresses will be delivered by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Kingsley Udeh. Other notable speakers include Indermit Gill from the World Bank Group and Harinder Kohli from the EMF.

Discussions will cover macroeconomic stability, regional integration, financial technology, and more, aiming to foster evidence-based policy dialogue for sustainable growth.
