Cardoso and Okonjo-Iweala to Headline Africa Forum

The 7th Africa Emerging Markets Forum will take place on July 29-30, 2026, at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Headquarters in Abuja. The event will feature a high-level fireside dialogue between Mr Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the CBN, and Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

The forum, hosted by the CBN in collaboration with the Emerging Markets Forum (EMF) and the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), aims to gather senior policymakers, central bankers, ministers, development partners, private-sector leaders, and leading economists to discuss practical policy responses to global economic uncertainties. The theme for this year’s forum is “Building Resilience Amidst Geoeconomic Uncertainties.” Additionally, ministerial keynote addresses will be delivered by Mr Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, and Dr Kingsley Udeh, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, emphasizing the need for coordinated fiscal, monetary, and innovation policies for Africa's economic transformation.
