David Ancelotti Appointed New Lille Coach on Two-Year Deal

David Ancelotti has been named the new head coach of Lille, signing a two-year contract with the French club. This appointment follows the departure of Bruno Genesio.

David Ancelotti, the son of renowned coach Carlo Ancelotti, is 36 years old and is taking on his second head coaching role after a six-month stint with Brazilian club Botafogo last year. He expressed pride and happiness in representing Lille, a club he described as serious and ambitious, and noted their competitive nature in European football.

Lille finished third in Ligue 1 last season, 15 points behind champions Paris Saint-Germain, and will participate in the Champions League next season. The new Ligue 1 campaign is set to begin on the weekend of August 22-23.
