Carter Efe's TikTok Account Banned with 5.6M Followers

Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe, whose full name is Oderhowho Joseph Efe, has lost his TikTok account, which had over 5.6 million followers, due to a permanent ban issued by the platform for multiple policy violations. Screenshots of the ban notice began circulating on September 9, 2026.

Efe's account had amassed more than 158 million likes through various content, including comedy, music promotion, and livestreams. This is not the first time Efe has faced such a situation; in June 2025, his previous account, which had around 3.5 million followers, was removed following a livestream where he made critical remarks about the artist Wizkid.

The fanbase of Wizkid, known as Wizkid FC, reportedly coordinated a campaign to mass report Efe's account, leading to its removal. Efe had rebuilt his presence on TikTok, only to face another permanent ban.
