Jigawa Police Arrest Cattle Rustlers and Drug Dealers

On February 15, 2026, the Jigawa State Police Command, under the leadership of spokesman Shiisu Lawan Adam, conducted a patrol that resulted in the arrest of suspects linked to cattle rustling and drug dealing. The patrol team intercepted a dark green Golf 3 vehicle along the Hadejia-Kano road, which was driven by Adamu Sani, with U Musa Abdullahi as a passenger.

The police reported finding stolen livestock, including animals with drop hair and rope, as well as Indian hemp, rizlers, a blanket, and an extra number plate inside the vehicle. The suspects are currently under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Duts Taura Local Government Area.

Additionally, the police recovered a stolen motorcycle and arrested three suspects linked to motorcycle theft in Birnin Kudu. In a separate operation, the police seized 1,568 pieces of illicit drugs and arrested several suspects across different local government areas, further strengthening security efforts in the region.
