Jigawa Police Arrest 29 Suspects in Major Crime Crackdown

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 29 suspects linked to armed robbery and fraud as part of a significant crackdown on crime. On March 13, 2026, two fraudsters, Abdullahi Muhammad (18) and Sabiu Kamisu (40), were apprehended for deceiving a victim out of N1,050,000 with fake currency.

The police recovered 64 fake $100 bills and a Honda car during this operation. Additionally, on March 14, a team in Hadejia arrested 12 suspects connected to robbery and cattle rustling, seizing items such as a Mercedes Benz and motorcycles.

On March 16, four robbers were caught in Ringim during a heist, with the police recovering a stolen motorcycle and a homemade gun. Further arrests continued, including Muktar Sa Idu (20) on March 20, who was involved in motorcycle theft.

The police spokesperson, Shi Isu Adam, reiterated the command's commitment to ensuring safety and combating crime in Jigawa State.
