Troops Arrest Five Cattle Rustlers, Recover 31 Cattle

On April 2, troops from the 1 Battalion Rear, under the command of Zagazola Makama, arrested five suspected cattle rustlers in the Kangiwa Maiyama Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The operation was initiated based on intelligence regarding terrorist and criminal activities around Bachaka Village in the Arewa Local Government Area.

The troops established a snap checkpoint to intercept suspects attempting to cross the area. During this operation, they intercepted a truck transporting 31 cattle, along with sheep and goats, and apprehended the five suspects on the spot.

These individuals were reportedly identified as local accomplices in the rustling of livestock in the Maiyama area. The recovered livestock was handed over to the Kebbi State Ministry of Livestock Development.

The suspects are currently in military custody, and investigations are ongoing to track members of the criminal network involved.
