CBN Declares Naira as One of the Strongest Currencies in the World, Gives Reasons

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has declared the Naira as one of the strongest currencies in the world, attributing its security features to this status. At a flagship sensitization event in Lagos, Paul Onuoha of the Currency Operations Department emphasized the resilience of the Naira against counterfeiting.

The event aimed to promote financial inclusion and economic development, bringing together various stakeholders. Hakama, the acting Director of Corporate Communications, urged the public to avoid currency abuse.

CBN Branch Controller Sunday Daibo highlighted the importance of alternative payment channels in expanding financial access and driving economic stability. The CBN also disclosed significant investments in currency circulation and emphasized the role of technology in redefining financial services.

The event showcased discussions on open banking, payment innovation, and attracting investment.
