“Naira among the world’s most secure currencies” – CBN boasts

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has proudly declared the Naira as one of the world's most secure currencies due to its advanced security features. During the CBN Fair in Lagos, the bank emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the currency.

Paul Onuoha, a senior official at the bank, led a session on detecting counterfeit notes and highlighted the security measures embedded in the Naira. The event aimed to deepen financial inclusion and build public trust in the currency.

The CBN urged Nigerians to handle the Naira with respect and avoid practices like spraying, hawking, or mutilating it. The Governor of the CBN, Olayemi Cardoso, reiterated the commitment to stimulating productivity, expanding financial access, and maintaining price stability.

The fair also discussed alternative payment channels, financial innovation, and the role of a strong Naira in attracting investment.
