Fake Naira Notes: CBN Urges Nigerians to Protect Currency's Value, Avoid Abuse

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has urged Nigerians to protect the value of the Naira and avoid its abuse by being vigilant against fake currency notes. The call was made by the acting director of CBN's Corporate Communications Division, Hakama, during a sensitization exercise in Lagos as part of the organization's drive for financial inclusion.

The CBN Fair focused on alternative payment channels to accelerate economic development. Participants learned how to identify counterfeit notes and understand the security features of the Naira.

The CBN emphasized the importance of financial inclusion, productivity enhancement, and maintaining monetary stability. Various departments within the CBN highlighted the role of alternative payment methods in promoting economic stability and national development.

The National Orientation Agency also warned residents and businessmen in Ilorin to be cautious of counterfeit notes circulating in the market.
