Osun ALGON Accuses CBN of Illegally Opening Accounts with APC Members as Signatories

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Osun State has accused the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) of colluding with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to illegally open bank accounts in the name of local governments. During a press conference, ALGON alleged that CBN replaced legitimate civil servants with APC members as signatories for the accounts.

The scheme was exposed by Kunle Adegoke, an APC governorship aspirant, who admitted on live television that CBN opened the account with APC members as signatories. ALGON condemned the move as a brazen illegality and an attempt to divert public funds for political gain.
