JAMB Vows Crackdown on Fraudulent CBT Centers in UTME 2025

The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Nigeria has vowed to shut down and prosecute Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers involved in fraud during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Chairman of the JAMB Special Committee on Examination Infractions, Jake Epelle, revealed widespread malpractice, including biometric manipulation, impersonation, and collusion with exam syndicates.

Epelle emphasized JAMB's commitment to using advanced technology for exam management but noted the challenges posed by individuals seeking to compromise the system. The investigation documented 192 cases of fraud, leading to the closure of several centers and legal actions against the operators.

The move aims to uphold the integrity of the UTME process and deter future misconduct.
