Panel Uncovers Fraud in 2025 JAMB Exam, Calls for Reforms to Ensure Meritocracy

A Special Committee on Examination Infractions (SCEI) revealed cases of fraud in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB). The report exposed malpractices such as impersonation, image morphing, and other infractions undermining the integrity of the admission process in Nigeria.

The panel, inaugurated on August 18, 2025, documented instances of fraud, including false disability claims and forged credentials. The chairman of the committee, Jake Epelle, highlighted the need for reforms to combat organized malpractice and ensure meritocracy in the education system.
