JAMB Inaugurates Committee On Exam Infraction

The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) has formed a special committee to investigate exam malpractice detected during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, expressed concern over the increasing sophistication of examination fraud, including biometric identity fraud and cheating at accredited CBT centers.

The committee will investigate 141 cases of normal exam malpractice, as well as extraordinary infractions such as image blending, falsification of finger pairing, and albinism claims. The committee will recommend disciplinary actions for individuals or groups found guilty, propose measures to detect and prevent future fraud, and review current registration policies.

The committee has three weeks to submit its report, with Chairman Jake Epele praising Oloyede's leadership and emphasizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of examinations.
