CDS Musa urges Nigerians to acquire combat skills amid security challenges

Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa has urged Nigerians to acquire combat skills in response to the growing security challenges in the country. In an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today, he emphasized the importance of martial arts training such as Karate, Taekwondo, and Judo as essential life skills, akin to driving and swimming.

General Musa highlighted the need for combat skills as a survival instinct, regardless of whether the nation is at war. He proposed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) should incorporate unarmed combat training programs to better prepare young graduates to defend against potential threats.

General Musa stressed the importance of security consciousness, urging individuals to take personal responsibility for their safety by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities in their communities.
