Centenary City Project Progress Highlighted by MD

Dr. Michael Odenigwe Jr., the Managing Director of Centenary City PLC, showcased the significant progress of the Centenary City project on Tuesday.

This initiative, which began in November, aims to develop a model city in Abuja to mark Nigeria's 100th anniversary on January 1, 2014. The project includes a 4.3 km access road, supported by community backing and corporate social responsibility efforts, including compensation for displaced individuals and scholarships for local youth.

Engr. Johnni Kouchan from Julius Berger Nigeria assured stakeholders of the company's commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards throughout the project's execution.

The road will feature a 12 m carriageway with two direct lanes, stormwater and wastewater lines, and pedestrian walkways. The collaboration with traditional rulers has facilitated amicable resolutions of issues, ensuring smooth project development.

The project aims to enhance infrastructure and employment opportunities for the local community.
