Tinubu Orders Security Boost in Plateau State with CCTV

On Thursday, during a town hall meeting with stakeholders in Plateau State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu issued a directive to security chiefs, including the Minister of Defence, to intensify efforts in tracking down those responsible for recent killings. This follows a deadly attack on Angwan Rukuba that resulted in the deaths of 28 individuals.

To bolster security across the state, Tinubu announced the deployment of 5,000 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras aimed at improving intelligence gathering and rapid response to security threats. During his visit, he expressed sympathy for the victims' families and condemned the killings, emphasizing the need for the federal government to protect lives and prevent further violence.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang welcomed the president's support, describing the recent incidents as a temporary setback while expressing confidence in federal coordination to overcome current security challenges. Former Governor Jonah David Jang also attended a meeting with the president in Abuja to discuss long-term solutions to the persistent security crisis.
