Lagos State Launches Training for 1,000 Security Personnel

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund is conducting a training program aimed at enhancing the capacity of 1,000 security personnel over a ten-month period. The initiative was disclosed by Ayodel Ogunsan during the opening ceremony held in Gbagada, with the theme focused on enhancing professional capacity, ethical standards, and inter-agency collaboration.

The training involves participation from various agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency. Ogunsan emphasized the importance of this training in addressing the complexities of managing security in a rapidly growing population.

The program is designed to build a pool of officers better equipped to respond to emerging security challenges and strengthen cooperation among different agencies. The Nigerian Army's Ayokunle Owolabi and Nigeria Police Force's Jimoh Moshood also highlighted the necessity of professional capacity in tackling current security challenges and pledged their support for the initiative.
