Cerundolo Claims First ATP 500 Title at Queen’s Club

Francisco Cerundolo, a 27-year-old Argentine tennis player, triumphed in the Queen’s Club final by defeating Tommy Paul with a score of 6-7, 4-7, 6-4, 6-3. The match lasted three hours and four minutes, making it the longest final in the tournament's history, surpassing Marin Cilic's 2018 win over Novak Djokovic by seven minutes.

Cerundolo's victory is significant as it marks his first ATP 500 title. He expressed gratitude to his parents, who were present at the match, with his father attending for the first time after flying from Argentina.

Throughout the tournament, Cerundolo honored the late football legend Diego Maradona by draping an Argentina football shirt over his player box. Tommy Paul, the defending champion, was unable to retain his title due to injury and a slow start in the match.
